RONNIE JAMES DIO Will NOT Headline This Year's RIDE FOR DIME Charity Concert

March 19, 2008

Contrary to the announcement posted on the Ride For Dimeweb site, legendary heavy metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio (DIO, HEAVEN AND HELL, BLACK SABBATH, RAINBOW) will ***NOT*** perform at the fourth annual Ride For Dime charity concert which benefits Little Kids Rock. "[We] do not know where this information came from, but we can assure you it is completely untrue," a Dio management representative told BLABBERMOUTH.NET earier today. "We have never been approached about this event, and Ronnie is working on the HEAVEN AND HELL record at this time."

Ride For Dime (RFD) is an annual charity remembrance ride and concert event held in memory of the victims of the December 2004 Alrosa Villa shooting "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray and Erin Halk.

This year's concert will take place on Saturday, August 16 at an as-yet-undisclosed venue. Artists scheduled to appear include HABIT OF FORCE, BLOOD OF THE SUN, HELL GOAT and PUMPJACK.
